In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. These are excellent for walking, although the they are running shoes. I got them because I have disc problems in my back and neck. They are well made and sturdy, but very comfortable!

I'm picky about shoes. They have to do this thing that most shoes don't do for me.....fit. These shoes fit. They are comfortable. They lace up. They have met my three criteria for shoes.

I recently ran the Super Spartan in these shoes in a very hilly and muddy course, these shoes were outstanding for traction and comfort, I love them.
